Method
Incidents are read from Florida Highway Patrol's public dispatch view once a minute and assigned to a road, city and ZIP from the reported location. Tampa Police traffic calls are read from the city's public list once an hour, a few hours after each call. Addresses are rounded to the block. Nothing about the people or vehicles involved is collected. Counts are what we observed while collecting, not a census of every accident. When a month ends its figures are frozen.
